When the muscles in our face move, a message is sent from the brain via nerves to the muscles, instructing them to contract. Anti-wrinkle injectables are a natural protein that works by interrupting this process, leaving those muscles unable to crease the skin, relaxing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Treatment can be kept very natural looking to give you a fresher more youthful appearance or can be adjusted to give you less movement of facial muscles if that is a look you prefer. After care advice for anti wrinkle injections
- Before anti-wrinkle injections, try to avoid alcohol for 24 hours to help prevent bruising. It is common to experience some swelling, tenderness and possibly some bruising around the treated area. These are quite common side effects, and are usually temporary (maximum 2-3 days)
- Avoid touching the treated area for at least 4 hours
- Avoid exercise for 24 hours
- Remain upright for 4 hours do not lie down or rest head forward for long periods of time. i.e. no gardening etc
- Avoid saunas/hot tubs/sunbeds for 24 hours
- Avoid rubbing/massaging the area for 24 hours
- Avoid beauty salon peel treatments for 2 weeks
- Wear a sunscreen
- Anti-wrinkle injections will normally “kick in” at 7-10 days …..day 14 at the latest
- A complimentary review appointment is offered up to 21 days after your initial treatment, which can be cancelled if you are happy with your results at 14 days
- Recommended treatment plan is every 12-16 weeks
Anti Wrinkle Injections Questions & Answers
A. There will be a very slight sting sensation when the needle goes into the skin, but it is only a second or two so relatively pain free.
A. It takes two weeks to take full effect, but most people start to see their results sooner than that.
A. Your muscle movement will start to respond again, resulting in full muscle movement as it was before you had a treatment. It will take some time for the static lines to reappear though, as the skin has had a chance to rejuvenate during the muscle resting period.
A. The clinical effect from this treatment is 12 weeks, so we can re treat at that point, however some people feel it take longer for the muscles to regain full strength, therefore allowing for a longer time period between treatments.

50% for appointments of 1 hour or less. 100% for appointments over 1 hour.
